Edge of the Wilderness Community Plan
The Edge of the Wilderness Community Plan process began in March of 2007. ARDC is working with the North Itasca Joint Powers Board to build off of the Community Action Plan that was completed in 1997. The process has been divided into four tasks: Background and Vision Development, Issue Identification, Recommendation Development and Plan Publication.
Summarized, the process ARDC proposes includes meetings with Joint Powers Board staff, meetings with the Board and two public meetings. In addition to facilitating Board and public input, ARDC will provide any necessary research and document writing and will also provide planning expertise, innovations and advice throughout the process. The process will result in a document that describes the project in full and gives details about the issues and the recommendations. The document will include a checklist of steps for implementation.
ARDC will attend the North Itasca Joint Powers Board Meetings on the fourth Wednesday of each month, where the Board will serve as the Steering Committee to work through the process.
