| The Arrowhead Regional Development Commission is preparing an HUD Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant. This website is intended to provide Consortium members with information on HUD's program and the application process. View HUD Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant Informational Powerpoint HERE Summary of Application Vision: Develop a comprehensive, inclusive plan for sustainability for the Arrowhead Region by building on past plans, existing data sets, regional and local initiatives, and best practices and using them, as well as new ideas, to create innovative strategies that enable communities to address needs in Housing, Transportation, Economic Development, Environmental Quality, Land Use, Health, and Aging in an integrated way. Needs: The plan will address the following- 1. High combined housing and transportation costs; limited housing opportunities 2. Aging population; aging workforce 3. Aging community infrastructure 4.Non-diverse economy 5. Sustainability of land use (water quality) 6. Environmental health 7. Health 8. Limited alternate transportation system use 9.
