In 2011, Orr developed its Comprehensive Plan. The plan was created to help the community identify its long term choices and goals, and to create strategies and action steps to work towards accomplishing the vision of the community.The community and area stakeholders were very involved throughout the comprehensive planning process. Public input was sought and received throughout the process and at two very well attended public meetings. The plan development was facilitated by ARDC and led by a local Comprehensive Plan Committee. During the development of the plan, the Committee hosted two special day long meetings with local, regional, and state stakeholders to discuss Economic Development and Housing needs. The attendees of these meetings are experts in their fields and contributed to the analysis of the community's needs. The comprehensive planning process in Orr identified an Integrated Revitalization Strategy, which has been the basis for subsequent planning efforts in the community. |
