The purpose of the International Falls Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan is to identify barriers and unsafe conditions for bicyclist and pedestrians in the City. The City is receiving assistance from ARDC to evaluate and make recommendations to improve bicycling and walking conditions within the City.![]() |
| Talk about a Walkabout

THURSDAY, MAY 12 at Backus Community Center |
| This event will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the main entrance of Falls Elementary School for students, parents and others interested beginning the event at that time. Other participants are encouraged to start the event at Backus Community Center at 4:00 p.m. The evening will begin with a brief discussion on what makes a walkable community. Participants will then walk some of the city sidewalks to generate ideas about its current level of walkability. After making a walking loop, discussion will continue over a meal of traditional Australian Walkabout Soup. This event is in coordination with Koochiching County Health Department, Statewide Health Improvement Program, City of International Falls and ARDC. Please be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and clothing suitable for the weather. |
