| NEW: NORTH SHORE SCENIC DRIVE - ADA ACCESSIBILITY OF WAYSIDES PROJECT REPORT

| Visitors of all ages and physical abilities enjoy taking their time as they travel the North Shore Scenic Drive (Trunk Highway 61). To enhance the traveler’s experience, there are a total of 68 public wayside pull-off areas located along the route to allow people to stop and safely enjoy the breathtaking views at their own pace. In an effort to improve the experience of these wayside pull-offs for visitors of all abilities, the North Shore Scenic Drive Council worked with the Arrowhead Regional Development Commission during 2012 to evaluate 16 of the most visited public wayside pull-off areas along the North Shore Scenic Drive for accessibility improvements. Additional funding was provided by the Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board. |

The North Shore Scenic Drive Council is the oversight committee that guides the marketing and interpretation of the North Shore Scenic Drive, an All-American Road. The Council has representatives from the Counties, Cities, and tourism organizations along the Byway.
